I smell a fix . . . I smell a fix :D :D . . . . Yeah, yeah the CAVS had the most ping-pong balls, but they only had 25% of them, right  ? ? Its still conceiveable that someone could've won . . . Its never been fully explained why the league went with the 'pingpong ball' lottery method vs. sticking all of the team logos in a tumbler and then pick them out . . . Its much more direct & to the point .

no need for a fix -- cavs had the best chance. if memphis had snagged it, that would have made me wonder, tho. jerry west returns and gets the number 1 pick? just too easy.

i wonder if detroit will shop their pick around. dunno what you can get in return for a #2 pick as far as salaries go, tho. for their team, it might be better to try to get a couple solid guys with experience -- they've got decent youth already.

if they keep it, i would expect them to pick darko. talented big men are a commodity. with snoop cliffy cliff draggin ass, maybe that's the best move.

I'd personally take Darko Milicic over Carmo. From what I hear the guy is 7 ft and play inside and out as PF and SF. Likes to bang more than Dirk N and has a very competitive nature and won't back down. Can shoot lights out from anywhere on the court and is very athletic. He's played against great comp. and is only 17 yrs old. People call him the Euro-Kevin Garnett. I don't know if he is that damn good but he has serious tools.

Carmo will be another Ant Walker with a little better athletism -which isn't terrible but isn't awe inspiring either. He is strictly a SF and will be a defensive liability early on. Isn't a super quick athlete and will eventually become a stand still jump shooter when he learns he can't blow by anymore. Can be a lower tier all star best case, but more likely a good #2 or #3 option.

Its only right that Lebron stays with the hometown team. I'm glad they got him.
Believe all the hype on James. He is gonna be the NBAs best player within 5 yrs. If he plays point (and he is definately a good enough passer and playmaker too play there) your talkin about Magic Johnson with Micheal Jordan athletism. Seems destined to be one of the all time greats. Can do everything on the court and shows up above and beyond expectations when challenged.

If Detroit holds the pick, they WILL take Darko.

    Who go the third pick?

I was secretly hoping that Denver would win the #1 and take LeBron. Then their backcourt would be 6'8 James & 6'9 Rodney White. A huge, scoring backcourt, completely incapable of stopping anyone. But it would be fun to watch them pile up points together as the Nuggets lose 60 games.

If the Nuggets finally commit to certain personnel decisions, such as keeping him as the starter at the 2, which is where he finished the season, I think he could have a breakout year. He'll never be a good defender, but he's one of the most offenisvely gifted players in the NBA. he needs to continue developing consistency. Rodney & Hilario make a good core for that team.

Rodney averaged about 14 or 15 points a game over the last 25% of the season. He's slowly finding his game. TO's are still a problem though.

I was imagining him and King James teaming up like LeBron did with Charlie V. in the McD's game. Lots of alley oop dunks. CV & Rod are similar players, only Rodney's better.

Bullshit. Rodney White has been mediocre at best in the NBA. Hillaro has talent but White is a third option at best on a decent team. They'll get Carmo but won't be a lot better IMO.
