Huh? I didn't even remember you were the same poster. I was just laughing at how you posted so many innacuracies while positioning yourself as the forum HD guru in the thread.

It had nothing to do with Dayton, I promise you I haven't lost sleep over a meaningless basketball game in December, between two teams I could give a shit about.

You're absolutely right, most hdtvs DO convert 24 fps to 60, which is why I brought up Jutter, a real problem on subpar units. Better tvs display the 24 fps natively, which produces an experience exactly how the movie was filmed.

The marketplace says it doesn't matter between lcd and plasma? Yeah, and hondas sell more than BMWs. Do you have a point? In fact, I'd argue the marketplace MUCH prefers LCD, that doesn't make them better though. The color depth, motion handling, and viewing angles are inferior, that's a fact.

Don't get pissy at me because you have LCD. Are there great LCDs? Sure. Is the tech improving? No doubt.

There's a reason why I said that, if money is no object, get a plasma. Of course, with your reading comprehension I guess you missed that part. I never said plasmas were cheap. Mine was $1400.

Is it $1000 better than the cheap LCD Olevia panel at my Walmart? That would be subjective. You don't see me complaining about crowd artifacts in sporting events though, I don't have any.

Funny you mention uncompressed cable/dish. I'm sure people would love to get 1920x1080 60fps video. When you find a provider actually delivering that, please post a link.

As for the 1080p60, YOU WANTED 'SuperBluRay' that magically add frames to movies that don't have them. If you don't understand how retarded that is, I can't help you. Movies are x resolution 24. That's it. That's why BluRay/HD-DVD are 1080p24. And some TVs have a hard time converting that. If the source disc was 1080p60, it would still produce the same juttery image.

Your last point is the only salient one you made. Plasma is supposedly subpar when used as a PC monitor (haven't hooked my PC to it yet.) To act like a plasma has to be in a basement to be seen is absolute insanity. I only have blinds in my apt and my tv is extremely bright and viewable from everywhere in my living room. I can understand in direct sunlight/glare it might not be the best, but don't act like you need to be in a cave to see it.

You were the one acting like you were the know-it-all in the thread. I just came in here to clear up some of the shit you were slinging. Reading your response just tells me you really don't know much of anything. Well, you know a little. But you're misinformed about a lot.

Not really, I won't argue with a brick wall, nor will I argue with an idiot.

So I guess that makes me Mag :cool2:

Just kidding, HH is clearly not an idiot.

edit: I've said my peace, I couldn't care less who believes whom. I did my research, and I know my stuff. HH has made a couple of mistakes in his posturing that I wanted to clear up, and in his retort it's clear he doesn't know the details, at least to me. He'd clearly argue otherwise, and apparently is still thinking about a stupid basketball thread like I care about Dayton or Pitt.

Cooking shows in HD? You'll end up like this :th_10_8_12:

And all sports in HD are awesome.

See Dave's comment above. I think we have around 50 channels now. I rarely venture out of the 200's (Comcast) now unless it's to watch a movie on one of the 18000 non-HD movie channels.

Yeah, there is some porn on HD-DVD and it's coming to Blu Ray as well.

As far as 'what's next' there are some 2160p tv's coming, but it's arguable that even with properly sourced material that you'd be able to humanly see a difference at 50".

I'd imagine at 100" you might see a little more resolution, but truthfully 1080p is fine for everyone's home needs. Considering the state of HD media (a clusterfuck) you won't see any 2160p discs any time soon if ever. It appears the market might move to Digital Distribution which would definitely struggle to keep up with the VC-1 compressed 1080p24 stuff on Bluray or HD-DVD, much less something 'better.'

In short, get a 1080p screen and feel good about being future-proof.

    yeah no shit.

I could waste an hour with a repsonse to that inaccurate bullshit he just posted, but it would be purely masturbatory.
