Yeah, anything below 42 inches and you'll have a really hard time telling between 1080p and 720p. It's not really worth the cost premium yet.

If you don't care about hanging your TV on the wall, DLP looks just as good as LCD or plasma at half the cost. it's the fucking meers, ************.

Yeah, dlp is good but it's becoming hard to find those models in stores to compare. One nice thing is that for $200 (price of a new bulb) your tv looks just as good as it did brand new. Plasmas and LCDs slowly get dimmer over their life, and it's impossible to 'renew.'

meh, LCDs are too bright to start with, and you're talking about 60,000-100,000 hours before you even lose 50% of the brightness.

I have my brightness cranked down to about 20%.

I really hate the diea of having to buy new bulbs for DLPs. And I hate how big the sets are. They are light though.

they're 15-18 inches deep. what's so big about that? as for the bulbs, you could buy five of them and still pay less than you would for an lcd or plasma. and picture's just as good.

people who get duped into spending way more than they had to are always gonna argue against the cheaper alternative. makes them look not quite as stupid.

When I find a DLP that has anywhere near the 170+ degree perfect visibility of a plasma/LCD, then we can talk, but until then it's not even close to the same thing. Every time I walk into a costco or best buy and see a huge screen, then walk past being directly in front of it, I just laugh...

If you just want big screens cheap, get a nice projector. The Panasonic PT-AX200U is extremely bright, costs $995 from a ton of places, has gaming modes for zero lag, etc. 100-130" screen, no problem, even in a lit room.

who needs to view a tv from 170 degrees? who the fuck wants to? I guess if you want to be able to tell people you can view a TV from 170 degrees, it's important.

gonna buy one this Friday for the bedroom if I can find a good enough sale. Gotta replace the one lightning nailed. Some people are telling me that plasma tv's gets very hot and that can't be a good thing. Considering it is gonna be at the end of the bed I am going with something around 32 or below.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
