    Yes I know that, but they haven't come close to doing what Kansas has done during the same time frame.

    I'm just saying how can you say that Roy hasn't underacheived? Yeah he has a good record but what good is a good record when you haven't achieved the ultimate goal of winning a championship with some of the best group of players year in and year out.

    Mark Gottfried (alabama hc) was a mortal lock at one time to take the UCLA job. UCLA has cooled off since he has underachieved and coached UA out of about 10 games this year. Wish they would still take him so we can bring Mike Davis home.

    How many teams or coaches fall into this category? There is no way that you can say every successful coach that hasn't won a championship has underachieved. Remember only one team can win it each year. Does the one team wonder that wins it all one year and then really nothing else, or a program with less overall history win it all make them any less or more then because they haven't won the games that K, Smith, Wooden or whoever else has?

    Just a few examples:

    Maryland last year
    Arkansas 1994
    UNLV 1990
    Michigan 1989
    Loyola-IL 1963
    La Salle 1954

    Just because a great coach hasn't won it all, have they underachieved, just as a coach that has won it all become a great coach or overachieved for that matter if they have done nothing else.
