Sounds like a big one is in the works between the Dodgers and Indians

Both teams have "strongly denied" reports that the Indians and Dodgers have been discussing a blockbuster deal that would send Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez to L.A. for one of the Dodgers young rotation mainstays and James Loney, according to FoxSports.com.

The word blockbuster is overused in sports, but this would truly be a blockbuster, an earth-shattering trade in the world of baseball. It's hard to believe the Dodgers would be willing to trade either Clayton Kershaw or Chad Billingsley, but Lee and V-Mart are both in the primes of their careers and relatively cheap. Stay tuned

The Dodgers might still be in the running for Roy Halliday. If he goes to LA they will become the NL favorite IMO. If he goes to the Phillies, they win the World Series with that offense.

as a dodger fan, i dont know how i feel about this trade. if i were the dodger exec. there would be some untouchables for me, with kershaw being one of them. no way i let him or matt kemp go. i dont know if i would let loney go either, but you need to get more offensive production out of your first baseman.

Don't forget that Halladay is one of the best 3 pitchers in the game. The Dodgers have the bucks to re-sign him after his walk season in 2010. I still think the Phillies are going to get him although I can't understand why the Angels would not want to put him under a halo.

Hell Yeah!. :REDanceBanana001: The Phillies acquire Cy Young winner Cliff Lee from the Indians without having to give up either Kyle Drabek or JA Happ. While Lee isn't Halladay he isn't that far from him. Lee's era is very respectable (low 3) he was a victim of crap run support. Almost 2 runs fewer than Halladay receives. That will not be the problem in Philly. That and Cliff Lee is signed through next year for a little more than half what Roy Halladay makes. Toronto's GM is going to have some explaining to do over the winter when he gets a boat load less for Halladay than he asked for during the summer
