Lasagna - Ricotta cheese replacement

    mix the ricotta w/ salt, pepper, garlic, sundried tomatoes, oregano, thyme, basil, and egg yolk...etc...before making the lasagne. the only thing you could sub for it would be a different kind of cheese.

    Cant stand Ricotta myself. Thats some nasty shit, its made from the whey. Why all american restaurants make it that way ill never know.

    Leave out the Riccotta, alternate ragu and pasta and pour a bechamel sauce on top, thats the yummy way for me.

    Question, do you all boil your pasta first or just let the sauce take care of that?

    I never use ricotta. Cottage cheese with different seasonings is the only way to go.

    Ricotta is nasty.

    my mom always used cottage cheese and made some pretty damn good lasagna. I used it to but sometimes I use ricotta. Just depends on which I feel like when I make it. Need to buy small curd cottage cheese if you use that - it is more the consistency of ricotta.

    that's the real Italian recipe. Sometimes they will add peas to it.
