I doubt Steve Smith would be relegated to number 2 status with the addition of Fitzgerald. Put Smith with Kurt Warner and Anaquin Boldin and see what kind of numbers he puts up.

And Randy Moss, Chad Johnson and Dan Marino. But they are still the cream of the crop.

Fitzgerald I'd be fine with, and he's the type of receiver I'd put money into (Boldin, as well). The problems of getting enough balls, filling all our needs, etc still work, but Fitzgerald isn't also a lunatic, and that really does kinda help.

The issue at this point would be whether they'd take a 2nd rounder, since they have enough at DT not to need a guy like Jenkins that I don't want rid of anyway (and since people forget how fucking thin we are at DT) and it'd be retarded to give up a 1 for him. But I'd throw a 2 at him, and pay him market.

yes, of course. steve smith is better than any other receiver in the NFL. If only he had a QB to throw to him, he'd prove it.

Steve Smith knows damn well that the Panthers need at least one more good WR. I think he would be fine with Fitz in the offense. We just don't need another overbearing personality like Keyshawn. Smith will still be the best WR on the team. I don't know how serious some of you are, but you'd have to be a dumbass not to see how good the guy is when we have a decent QB in the game.

Arizona'd be stupid to trade Fitzgerald, but then again it's Arizona we're talking about.
