Larry Brown gets fired

yup. it's saunders to coach the pistons.

 

Hard to let a guy walk who won a ring one year and then made it to game seven of the finals before losing a close game the next year.

 

yeah, but i think they knew he'd probably walk anyway. and rather than wait to have it happen at a bad time, they controlled the timing and circumstances by doing it themselves. sorta like amputating a hand to save an arm. sucks to lose the hand, but it could have been much worse.

saunders is pretty highly regarded, tho he's only really had success in one place. wonder if darko will get any pt with him at the helm.

 

It's real easy when the guy has become more of a distraction than he is worth. If I had been flirting with other women like Larry has been flirting with other teams this year I'd be out on my ass right now too.

Larry wasn't fired no matter how much he and his agent spin this. He just wanted to leave with some $$$.

 

according to dumars, his agent basically said that the pistons would need a new coach at the halfway point of next season....although his agent denies that. the pistons owner demands loyalty...when LB started talking to cleveland and the knicks during the season, it was over for him then.

no piston player has talked to him since this happened...kinda shows the players may have been sick of him anyways.

 

Assuming he goes to NY for the upcoming season, where do you think he'll coach in 3 years?

 

in 3 years? he'll be officially out of coaching and will start his 2nd career as a meddling gm or president of bball operations.
