....in Mooresville. Its located off the beaten path but has gained tremendous popularity in the "Race City". I like the eastern style BBQ and the wings. The NASCAR theme is a little played but folks flock to that place like its a shrine.......never know who you might see in there either.

yeah, fat boys is the name(not to be confused with "big daddy's" out near the lake). the nascar boys used to wear that place out. it dont get the crowds it used to due to the number of eating joints that have popped up out near exit 36. in fact you'll need your full lunch hour and maybe them some because the traffic is so bad out that way these days. the food is not that bad, they have excellent country style vegetables including corn bread, collard greens, butter beans, stewed cabbage and black eyed peas. their bbq chicken and cobbler will make you want to slap your grandma too.

They also have one (primarily take out) same exit but take a left go about a half mile on right. It's inside of a gas station. Lancasters has the best wings IMO and the vinegar and pepper BBQ. I love their food ALOT

No doubt about the traffic, 9yrs ago it was getting bad...that's how long it's been since I've been up that way. You're right, every time I'd eat there, 2 or 3 NASCAR crews would come in. It was always pretty cool to get to work around those shops.
