I imagine we'll see liberal doses of Brown and Goings. Hopefully this'll be enough to make us use Hoover at RB, or more to the point take him away from FB.

That is, if he's not playing this weekend. He should be benched anyway, and chances are between those incentives he wasn't supposed to earn (Foster) and the DWI, I'd say he's possibly earned his way out.

I tell you what, January just can't come fast enough.

I could not find anything on this. It might be just another "funny" lil' rumor initiated at Char.com.

    Link anyone???

    Panthers Player Charged With DWI

Charlotte, November 28--Another Carolina Panthers football player has been arrested by police.

Officers Thursday arrested running back Lamar Smith and charged him with driving while impaired, speeding, and reckless driving.

Smith was stopped on U.S. highway 29 in Mecklenburg County.

Smith was released after posting a $1200 bond.

This season can't end fast enough. I love the Panthers and will never turn my back on them but, damn this getting old!!!!

Just go ahead and cut him- he's not really helping us win anyway. Let's see what Brown can do, he's looked pretty good in his limited carries this season.

For those of you who don't know, I believe Lamar was in a DWI type incident as a rookie with the Seahawks. I think he paralyzed a teammate.

    good call mags----I found this---

Smith's four seasons in Seattle weren't happy ones. When he was a rookie in 1994, he was driving a car that hit a utility pole near the Seahawks' headquarters, leaving teammate Mike Frier paralyzed. Frier, also a rookie, was a defensive tackle.

Smith admitted he had been drinking, pleaded guilty in 1998 to vehicular assault and was sentenced to four months in jail.

"'Ninety-four, that's history, and I have to go on with my life," Smith said

Dukey- I think it's worse. Lamar could have killed somebody. A friend of mine-his cousin and two children- were killed leaving school by a drunk driver. I have zero tolerance for that. It's pretty simple to call a cab or call a friend.

Plus it's his second time-he paralyzed a teammate and spent 4 months in Jail on a prior DWI.

I really was liking Lamar Smith but I just lost all my respect for him. How could you ever drink again, much less drink and drive after you paralize a former teammate. This may be a situation where he has a serious problem and needs help w/ it.
