Yeah I said "one of the biggest" as Greg was a junior when I started following Duke. My dad said he was pretty heavily recruited in his day, but he finally paid off in that UNLV game. He freed up Laettner to rebound and not have to worry about chasing one of the best college players I've ever seen. It's not that Shav leaving hurts us that bad at all, it's just you never know. We could have used him, just like we could have used Michael Thompson in 2003.

Yeah, it's really hard to compare who was the better recruit, the recruiting frenzy info that is out there, didn't start until about Greg's time or maybe a few year later.

Yeah, although I'm scared to get too excited over him. He's even more hyped than Shav was, and "The Shav Experience" has made me hesitant when it comes to 6'10" 240lb white guys.

But did you see him dunk :ylsuper:

He's a level or two above Shav athletically. Great passer too, and hit some threes in the allstar game, got double digit rebounds....

I wonder how good Boateng will be. McRoberts looked way better than Shav during the McD's game. You could see Carolina fans getting pissed with each shot that was falling for him.

Boykin will contribute at the 4 as well. I think McClure is going to take a medical redshirt.

The ONLY good think for UNC fans about the McD's game was the fact that Gerald Green ball hogged like a sum bitch and now Tyler Hansbrough will be underrated going in to the season.

I wasn't pissed about it, I think he is going to be a good kid for the ACC and will be one of the very few dook players I like.

Can I quote you on that when he drops 20 points and 15 rebounds on UNC? :-D
