Looking around it seems more difficult to find one that does what you would expect correctly.

    Looking to switch:

    2 PCs
    DVI
    audio
    USB
support multifunction keyboard and mouse (scroll wheel, etc) this seems to be the issue with most I find

Any suggestions? I'd like something that has a little size to it as the small ones I've used in the past always seem to be unpredictable so I'd like to spend a little more to get a solid one.

thought I found the perfect one until a customer review said it didn;'t support the mousewheel, etc

Belkin is supposed to be releasing a new one soon that seems to be what we need

Having two truly peer machines these days is rare.
    What's the need?

There are great IP KM (pure software) solutions. Remote Desktop does most of what you're talking about. And virtual machines do it as well without a second box.

For me, I have two monitors on my main machine. I have both active, but when I need my second machine (my server), I remote it onto my second monitor full-screen and it's basically like I have two machines active but a single keyboard and mouse (and sound redirects and such as well).

Ugh. Good story for a VM :) (even the networking part is usually doable there). Good luck - I've been through a lot of KVMs and they all pretty much suck other than for servers (where they rarely get used, vs. on your desktop where you'll constantly be booting machines, switching from one to the other, etc.).
