After thinking about it for a while, I don't think that she did this for the money. If she wanted the cash, she wouldn;t have gone to the cops. There is no way that she can get anything from this now, because it would be bribing a witness.

Also, the fact that they are seeking a rape charge (first degree I think) means that they have some good physical evidence and it is not just his word vs. hers. It will depend on how violent he got, but I am guessing that we are going to be learning a little more about it later.

The bottom line is that even if she went up there to fool around, at some point she apparently changed her mind about either having sex or what type of sex, and Kobe forced her to do something. That is rape.

Kobe is in a world of hurt right now, but IF he really did rape this girl, what he is going through doesn't even begin to compare to what she is going through.

And if he is acquited she can still get book deals and magazine spreads and everything else after this trial plays on ESPN, CourtTV, CNN and the major networks everyday for the next 6 months.

This makes it high profile - that is where the money comes from.

I hope he didn't do it. I can't understand why he would have. And if she is making a false accusation I hope she does the right thing before it goes too far.

If Kobe did do it then he needs to spend a long time in prison. A celebrity using his status as a lure and weapon is as bad as a preist, teacher or cop doing the same thing.

 

What kind of money do you think she could get? I would guess not more than a mill or 2 all told, and the price she is going to pay for that in terms of loss of ALL privacy ain't worth it IMO.

Maybe she can sue Kobe in civil court, but I don't know how much she would get from that either.

Regardless - by taking teh case to the DA she lost most of teh financial muscle.
