Interesting reading. I'm getting the thought, though, that the "real" sins of Sodom and Gomorrah were a loss of compassion for one's fellow and, really the creation of a society that consisted of people who were so self absorbed that it was "all about them".

Certainly one of the interesting (to me, anyway) concepts of Judaism is the idea that "The beggar is twice blessed." (The first blessing comes from the results of his begging; the second from being able to give others the opportunity to perform a "mitzvah" -- a good deed.)
