i watched. looks promising.

 

Watched it my 8 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Led to some interesting discussions. Much better than I had anticipated.

 

i'm thinking it's a perfect family show -- lots of kid lessons.

 

I'm curious, as a parent would you let your kid be on that show?

 

VERY disappointed.

 

I think so. I can't remember a broadcast show that both my kids got into and led to some pretty topics.

My son really identified with Jimmy and felt bad to see him leave but said he understood. My daughter picked up on the Sophia girl early.

We talked about leadership and homesickness, how living in a community, you had to put selfish interests aside for the good of all (outhouses vs TV), how everyone can have a role in the community and how the structure of a society may sometime predetermine your role and put you at a huge disadvantage unless you take proactive steps to overcome.

 

My 13 year old. Maybe. 8 year old, no fucking way.

 

So its not the sequel to Kids?

 

if you're one of those parents trying to push their kids into the industry, you would. those parents have no souls.

 

i'd let ty go -- but he's very outgoing and personable.
