Most NBA contenders are built around one or two stars. The rest are just role players. Tim Duncan, Lebron James, Dirk Novitsky (sp?) etc. Worst case for Boston is they do not have much success with Pierce, Allen and KG. They start over in a couple of years and hop to hit the lottery at the right time. It is not like football, the team building is not as important as getting a superstar, Jordan Rules and all.

I hope you don't take what I said as 5-6 years because he didn't play college, please tell me that's not how you took this? The 5-6 years were from all things considered. I mean hell they may only get one decent year out of him. All of this is speculation on what we have known about him and compared to other players, it's all we have at this point.

And that's still too long regardless of what rationale you use, but I guess we'll find out. If they can get three more years of high production from him, I'd expect the Celtics to be ok with that.

I don't give a shit, I haven't been this excited about the Celts since the start of 2002-03 after they made the conference finals the previous year.

Like it's been pointed out before, this is the Eastern Conference; anything less than 48 wins will be a disaster.
