Depending on how his recovery goes, Weinke should be in a pretty good position to improve on last year. His strong start was his true form, the injury really hurt him throwing to the left and he probably should have been out a few more games than he was. However, with Craig getting hurt and Lytle's inexperience...what other choice was there?
Then there's Peete and Fasani. I'd prefer Fasani over Peete, but experience will probably win out there if it comes to a decision between the two. I'd be happy with Peete under center, he's smart and has some veteran savy, but is really just a career back-up...sound familiar?

Just when I was starting to get hyped up about our new coaching staff, someone has gone and likened Fox to Coach K. Please say it isn't so. Please say that Fox won't turn the Panthers into a bunch of prissy boys.

Whatever happens with the QB situation, it can't be as bad as it was last year and it will never come close to being as bad as when Bline was at the helm (unless we resign Lewis and instill him as the QB).

    WR situation is very shakey.

Today at camp, Fox spent a good 10 minutes talking to Smith one on one. I thought that was cool.

well, like i said, i don't like duke, but if fox can do what k has done, i don't care if our guys wear dresses around town with tap dancing shoes.

Here is what scares me about Peete, if I read his stats correctly:

The last 3 seasons, he has played in 4 games and attempted 17 passes. Other than that, I never have paid much attention to his game, he was never on a team I cared 2 shits about.

    >>sound familiar --------- :suicide: :D

Heaven forbid we get a Beuerline like production out of Peete.

We didn't bring Peete here because of his storied past or his gawdy stats (obviously). He's here because he's got experience and was cheap. Simple as that.

You don't get big name players unless you shell out big time bucks. I guess we could have had Bledsoe.

Would that be a bad thing? "led the Patriots to an AFC Championship and a Super Bowl appearance." Kinda like Collins...

Like I said, I have nothing what so ever against Peete but when I read your reason for bringing him in... I'd prefer to find a vet that knows how to take a team from start to finsish to the big game or close to it...

Yeah, and we can all agree that Kerry Collins is a franchise QB.
