FWIW Gantt on radio said his comments on Henning irked some, and that Henning was the only reason he was brought there in the first place. his retire /not retire stance lasted longer than the front office wanted. bacically had worn out his welcome with a lot of people. he might have pissed in richardsons coffee for all we know.

Jake has thrown some shitty passes in the past but those two to Key were not two of them. Those two INT's were on Key.

He must have really pissed off some key people. No pun intended. I really an surprised at this as he didn't seem like a cancer to the team. Now I think we need to sign another vet receiver because Colbert sucks, Jarret is a rookie and I just hope that Carter is ready to step up.

Hell, but if Jarrett has a Colbert like rookie season we'll be fine. Jarrett is probably happy about this because now he's got a great shot to start.

what sucks is that we probably could have gotten an extra draft pick out of him at the draft, but we REALLY didn't want to humiliate him sitting at the table with all the experts.

maybe they didn't want jarret to learn from someone who was so set in how good he was and didn't adjust to his surroundings. still, this sucks.

Randy Moss only got a 4, so I doubt we would have been able to trade Keyshawn for anything.

I still don't get the move at all. I guess Keyshawn was not a "fox guy". Either way it does not make sense to pay the bonus and not have him play the year for you. He certainly contributed to this team more than any of the recievers behind him on the depth chart.

How does this improve our offense? Do they plan on Williams and Foster to open things up for Smith?

 

They've worked so hard to sign core players to long term contracts and keep a nucleus together that you wonder if complacency becomes a risk. Maybe they want to light some fires under people. This seems like a message that no one is safe if the team doesn't win, including high-priced, high-profile players. I wouldn't have thought they would offer Jenkins in trade or push Minter to take a pay cut either.

 

well, maybe they wanted to make sure they got a starting quality WR before cutting him and thought that maybe they could get what they wanted in the 2nd.

They said no one was safe or something like that after last season. I guess everyone thought that was over after february.
