Just so that we all are on the same page, in what ways are you saying that he got worse?

Your perception fortunately does not equal reality.

    2003 - 59.2% completions, 19TD, 16 INT, 80.6 rating
    2004 - 58.2% completions, 29TD, 15 INT, 87.3 rating
    2005 - 60.2% completions, 24TD, 16 INT, 88.1 rating
    2006 - 61.0% completions, 17TD, 11 INT, 82.6 rating

With the exception of a standout 2004 season, he seems remarkably consistent. His completion percentage rate seems to be on the climb, and historically he gives you a 3/2 TD to interception ratio which isn't great, but isn't horrible either.

Hmmm...perhaps the team's struggles lie elsewhere. Jake's pedestrian numbers seemed like more than enough when we had a consistent running game. Don't you think we should fix that before we throw "consistent" Jake on the fire? I mean, he is a team leader and all........

if jake can audible, and if the line can now also - and if it really was an issue under henning - we may see what the coon-ass can do this year, for real now. i'm excited to see it - one way or another.

it's not me, man. The last person that talked like that got so humiliated I haven't seen him back again. People who have to use arguments like "jock-sniffer" have nothing better to say. You can drop it if you want, but I really doubt you can - there's something irrational in the works here.

And it doesn't piss me off at all. I guess, for some reason, I still almost give the benefit of the doubt to people who don't have anything to say, that they might have something worthwhile.

it really was. I remember a number of times where late-game calls were awful and the excuse was "we checked into the only play we had available." 2006, and we're five months into the season and we don't have more than one check for a division rival?

Fair answer...I took your comments as some sort of threat....if you meant otherwise, then my apologies.

Here's how Jake has gotten worse: The Jake camp consistesntly argues that "Jake took us to a superbowl"....if the quarterback is responsible for the good, then it stands to reason that he is responsible for the bad as well. Our team has been on the downslide since that run to the superbowl....so by that reckoning, Jake has gotten steadily worse.

I guess that depends on how you measure it, doesn't it?
Thanks for making my point...Jake is a mediocre passer, he can't run...so he's a mediocre quarterback.

Consistently mediocre is not a good thing....FYI.

so in stating how Delhomme has "gotten worse" you aren't even talking about play on the field? The excuse is by chastising fans?

Nope....it's this simple; you guys claim Jake "took us to the Superbowl"...we have done worse each season after that, so by your recknoing, Jake is getting worse. By my reckoni9ng, he's always been mediocre...decent leader, and a lot of heart...but a mediocre quarterback from a mechanics point of view. I don't think he's neccesarily 'worse', I just don't think he's ever been that good.
