maybe it's a move to let Jenkins know he has no leverage in the upcoming meeting. The cynic in me says this is a move to justify the Jarrett pick while other more pressing needs went lacking in the draft. Still you had to try and get something for him.

No, we're not officially in rebuilding mode.

Not too hot about this move, though. I though we could have gotten at least one more good year out of Keyshawn. I'm not shocked, though. Nothing really suprises me anymore, short of cutting Julius Peppers.

Wow... either Carter, Colbert or a rookie starting opposite Smith and a pair of shitty TE's. I'm filled with total confidence now

I've got the feeling that we're about to make a move to get a good safety. Maybe I'm wrong and I have no idea what kind of move or who it will be, but stay tuned.

At least they won't be projected by magazines to win the superbowl this year.

Just keep in mind that we didn't have shit across from Smitty in '05, and still managed to win two playoff games. Carter & Jarrett > whatever the hell we used two years ago. I'm not saying that we're immediately helping ourselves by cutting Key, but the team obviously feels as though Jarrett is NFL ready, that Carter is an adequate starter and that Robinson can fill our slot needs. And there's always the off chance that Colbert can return to '04 form.

It's a young group now, but the talent is there.

Who in the heck is left out there? Sanders, Hamlin and Grant have all signed in FA, unless we are attempting to make a trade with someone.

There are some decent, patchwork veterans left, but we could have signed one without dropping Keyshawn. This wasn't a salary cap move.
