You guys can freak over this is you want to but I doubt it has much if any effect. Jarrett and Carter can fill his spot.

You have much more confidence in Carter and Jarrett than I do. Carter is unreliable and I think Jarrett may be closer in skills to Mike Williams than Keyshawn Johnson. That should give you a couple of things to worry about that shouldn't even have been a cause for concern for 2007-8.

The only thing I don't like about it was Key's durability. Dude was a constant. He was very very very rarely hurt.

We don't have another guy like that.

True. I thought he was under used all season.

Maybe, but if they are filling his spot together who will fill the 3rd spot? We were solid, now we are thin.

Carter fits the role, and maybe he gets a longer deal now or next year. I don't see him starting past the first few games, and shouldn't. I'd be fine with this, excluding the Keyshawn thing, if Carter hadn't disappeared in the meat of the season.

there's more to winning a championship than on-field effort. he wasn't one of their guys. he was stop-gap at best.

i would never suspect that "me-shawn" and the author of "just throw me the damn ball" would ever be considered a team player. for that reason, i'm glad he's gone. the team will be better.

I don't know if this was posted earlier but, yaz sez

Some very important people in the organization weren't happy when Johnson failed to stand up and take blame away from quarterback Jake Delhomme after some critical passes intended for Johnson were intercepted. At least one very important person in the organization urged Johnson to do that and he didn't.

Johnson also didn't endear himself to some key people by questioning some coaching moves

Apparently his mouth and ego didn't work for Fox
