I would have cut him sooner, right after he said he'd retire if Henning left because he didn't want to play for another OC.

Then he comes back with..."Oh, I'll wait and see who they hire bullshit"

    fuck'em

In fairness we don't know much about the locker room. Maybe BS'ing about a guy could have the opposite effect.

I do see what you're saying, but maybe making it known that to be worthy of our locker room, you have to check ego at the door, makes it a better locker room for most guys.

I had forgotten all about that wacky crap . .. had to google this up as a refresher:

    >>>>Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson allegedly tried to assault and threatened to kill a Richmond man who is dating his ex-wife, according to court records.

John Mahannah Jr., 31, has obtained a restraining order in Alameda County Superior Court that requires the 6-foot, 4-inch, 220-pound NFL star to stay at least the length of one football field away from the Richmond man and his two small children.

Johnson, who was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night by two men outside a South Berkeley barbershop, began traveling in the Bay Area after his ex-wife, Shikiri Hightower, moved to Pleasanton last year from Southern California after they separated.

Mahannah also filed a civil lawsuit against Johnson and a report to Oakland police alleging three months of verbal harassment and an attempted assault during a Jan. 9 funeral at St. Columba's Roman Catholic Church.

The lawsuit and Mahannah's restraining order application also claim Johnson left dozens of threatening messages on an answering machine, saying he knows where the man lives and will hunt him down and "beat him to a pulp.''

Mahannah said the athlete had tried to assault him during a confrontation at the funeral of Monique Linyard, 27, of Pinole, who was killed in a New Year's Day auto accident on Interstate 80 in Berkeley. Linyard was a close friend of Hightower.

As Mahannah approached the casket to pay his respects, Johnson began shouting insults and threats, according to the police report. Mahannah then tried to leave the church, but Johnson stopped him.

According to the report, Johnson was restrained by several other people but then cornered Mahannah outside, saying: "I'm going to kill you. ... How can you disrespect me?'' Johnson was restrained again, allowing Mahannah to leave, the report states.

Johnson could not be reached for comment on Friday. His agent, Jerome Stanley, told the St. Petersburg Times that the dispute was "just overblown, that's all. More smoke than substance. It's a ballgame-level dispute that gets elevated because he's a professional athlete. It's typical."<<<<<

there is definitely nothing about Key's behaviour at that time that's "typical"

wonder if Key has Fox and Hurney's home phone numbers . . . or Jarrett's :furious3: :knife:

Celania, who seems to know him fairly well, said the idea that Smith and Johnson didn't get along had no basis whatsoever.
