The problem with having guys that stay four years means they aren't that talented these days. If Paulus and co. don't improve dook is really going to suck.

Your right. I will never argue the point that Paulus is as talented as Lawson. But by the time both of their college careers are over Paulus would have been more valuable to Duke because he stayed for four years. That would be like me arguing that Scheyer is as athletic as Ellington. There is no way, but he will be valuable because he will stay for 4 years.

Why? Because in 2008 UNC is expected to bring in Larry Drew and Jrue Holiday as guards. Both at least on par qith Lawson and Ellington. Which means those freshmen will be greater than Paulus then. Which means Duke is still behind UNC in that talent area. So how is a guy that isn't talented for 4 years better than a guy that IS talented for 2-3 years??

Now by the time that Paulus is a senior i would have to disagree that he isnt as talented as the freshmen lawson. At this time he has no where near the talent. When he is a senior he will have just as much or more with his experience also. You saw with Gerald Henderson it doesnt matter how much talent you have freshmen will struggle because of inexperience. By the time Paulus is a senior if he keeps developing he will be a great assist man and a drainer from behind the three point line.

I would rather have a championship in 2005 with NBA calliber players than be mediocre for four years, which is what will happen if dook continues to depend on the players they have now. They should send them away like we did to Adam Boone and Brian Morrison and just start the fuck over with fresh talent.

Well for starters as everyone knows, but you, Duke is losing its only talented big man. There problem last year was the lack of more talented bigmen and a PG that turned the ball over next year. Well they aren't gettting any big men in or a PG that doesn't turn the ball over. So instead they add 3 more wing in which Duke already has depth. So basically you plug no hoes and actually make one worse (ie. the lack of talented bigs). So yes Duke has the potential to be worse with 7 mcDonalds HS all americans.

Um No you said you were GETTING 2 big men and got called out. i'm also getting tired of your dumb ass calling names, when in general I've made this a somewhat civilized discussion. Apparently that is obviously a sorry attempt of your own to attempt discreditation, with out the use of a realistic argument to back your facts. Furthermore Patterson has been a Florida lean for some time and has never listed Duke as his top choice, so even if you are attempting to come up with that bullshit you're highly ill informed.

then why in the hell did you argue a couple of sentences ago that "There's the other big man"

How is Nolan Smith gonna help run the point, when he won't be starting? He gonna help prevent turnovers from the bench? As I said. Duke is way too deep at the Wing spot, so don't expect Smith to help quite as much as you'd think.

Smith first of all will get his playing time. Singler is coming in as a 3 but will play as a big man no doubt about it... you started with the name calling with the stupid cracks. Now that the coach that recruited Patterson is leaving the school he intended to go to there is a good chance he will change to Duke. The other SF coming in is Taylor King i havent seen him play but i hear he will probably play the 4 at Duke because of their depth in guards. Theres your other big man even without patterson. Civilized conversation doesnt include talking about people be stupid. But i would look for patterson to go to Duke now that Donovan might go away from Florida with his top 6 scorers leaving.

But it DOES include calling the coach of someone's favorite team a joke, even when that person was minding his own fucking business. Got it.
