Durant reminds me of a longer, more skilled Luol Deng.

wayman tisdale was as good as durant, stats wise. couldn't hit the outside shot like Durant, obviously.

didn't chris jackson have a decent freshman year?

No. Carmelo Anthony posted stats similiar to Durant and led his team to the national title. He wasn't a contributor on a title team, he picked them up, put them on his back and led them to the champoinship. If Durant can't do that with the Longhorns then he isn't the greatest ever.

    Who is black Jesus?

Pistol Pete was the best I ever saw. But he was around before 25 years ago.

something someone said to me the other day made me think long and hard about this. They said "Portland needed a Center a few years ago and passed up on Michael Jordan."

Yep, Portland got Sam Bowie. Glad that worked out for him. Plus, with Oden being about 35 years old, he won't have too much time in the league anyway.

Durant certainly is one of the best freshmen (the list is short in his league) to play college basketball. They are different kind of players, but Patrick Ewing is one that I felt dominated as a freshman.

Mark Macon? hahahaha...only Grid would remember that name- maybe Chaney does too

Ewing and Magic popped up for me immediately - before checking out the ESPN article. I even toyed with the idea of throwing Chris Mullin out there ('81 class with Ewing) because he was bad ass back then.

Ever? No. Of the last 15 years? Maybe. Maybe not. I'd like for him to win an NCAA tourney game before I even give him that at least. Right now he reminds me of a taller Bernard King.
