Kerry Wood will be returning to the cubs for the '08 season, as he signed a one year, 4.2 million dollar deal today. You have to love this if you are a cubs fan. Wood did well when he returned this year, and there is just something about watching Kerry take the mound in Wrigley. Wood had plenty of multi-year options out there, but he really wants to be a Cub. Speaking of the other offers Wood said, "It's flattering, and it shows the hard work paid off," Wood said of the bids, "but Chicago's my home, and Chicago's been great to me, and obviously there's no better place to play than Chicago, especially if you're winning, and that's been the plan."

I like Kerry Wood but injuries just seem to follow this guy recently. Hoping he has a good year and can have a season without injuries.

he looked real good and strong this past season. he also has lost a lot of weight and is in better shape than he has ever been in.

I don't like the Cubs but it would be nice to see Wood have a good season without injury, Pryor too for that matter.

As a die-hard cubs fan, I'm torn about the Pryor situation. I like Pryor a lot, but a part of me says its time to trade him, which the rumors are now saying is a definite possibility. If the Cubs do re-sign him they are going to want an option for '09 if Pryor has a good year. Pryor wants a multi-year deal, but with his injuries I just don't see that happening.

That doesn't have much to do with whether or not his arm will hold up. His motion just puts a ton of strain on him, and that's not going to change. No team will ever be able to count on him remaining healthy.

I can't say you are wrong, but I certainly hope you are. I love the way he pitches and his passion for the game.

wish I could say the same for prior.
