agree. he doesnt cost that much, isnt a problem, and sometimes players take 3 or 4 years to develop.

    Does 'development' take good coaching?

Cause we haven't really 'developed a good wr since Moose. Sure, SS turned out a great playmaker, but it did take him a few years and I'm sure moose had a lot to do with that, as well as proehl also. Other than those two, nada.

I'm not sure what that means, other than we ain't 'developed' shit on the offensive side of the ball since, well, ever, really.

They say the third year is the breakout year for most receivers. If believe the fantasy football "experts" anyway. I kinda disagree on our receivers.

Donald Hayes played well here for a while and he was not very talented.
Patrick Jefers had a great year here.
Carruth was decent before he decided to kill his girlfriend.
Rocket Ismail had the best years of his career here.
Wesley Walls had some great years.

Certainly we are not a factory that churns out wideouts but we have had some success though.

Yes we have had some good WR (Mark Carrier and Issac Byrd were good ones too) and ONE great TE in Walls.

But none were actually 'developed' here as young players. Carruth was the same phenom as he was in college. All the others in your list were 'developed' before they got here, besides Hayes. And where is he now? He played for us about like Colbert does now. He was seen at times to make a great catch, but many games he was invisible. However, when most of those guys played, especially with bline, we seemed to pass more and mostly more shorter passes.

I'm talking development only here. We have a young team, and it seems we draft good players, but they don't seem to get much better than they were when they first came to begin with, imo.

It just doesn't seem that our staff can take average to above average talent and mold them into very good players. Like, say, billichick's staff does. Those doods' take very very average players and turn them into real gamers.

true enough, Coach. Only Jeffers was remarkably better here, and he wasn't that bad in Dallas; but that was year 4. Carrier was an aging vet; Ismail had been with a number of teams before us.

Willie Green was nothing away from here. Smith had no skills coming in. Moose had no skills coming in. Carter has improved alot. It really does take awhile to develop a WR. also, not every WR can be developed. Some is on the WR. I do doubt some of our coaching, but not at WR.
