message board propaganda - it wouldn't suprise me if this was tabled, but the powers to be at Kentucky don't like Calipari supposedly.

Chapel Hill and Duke have as many titles combined as UK. They have had 3 different coaches win titles. In case you've forgotten they won two titles in the 90s. Tubby was good enough to keep them in the big dance, but he wasn't good enough to build a championship team. I don't think they made a bad decision by getting rid of him, but they did by not hiring a guy like Mike Anderson. I hope they have someone in that same vein lined up already, because they are likely going to end up with Travis Ford and be back in the same boat. He is, at best, on Tubby Smith's level. A guy who can keep the in the tournament but likely wont win a title.

I haven't forgotten, I know their history all too well. Those two titles in the 90's also equal their total since 1978. Just saying.

They have the most absurd winning percentage in the Final Four, I think they have 11 FFs and 7 titles, it's pretty impressive. A huge chunk of that happened before 70% of Wildcat nation was even born though. I've seen Duke win more titles than a lot UK fans can claim. So have most UNC fans.

I've seen Chapel Hill win two titles, Duke win three, UConn win two, Florida win two, UK win two and UCLA win one. Louisville was probably the first team I saw win a title, but I certainly don't remember that.

UCLA has more titles, but they were definitely from a by-gone era. UK has the richest basketball history, even if it is coated with that racist Adolph Rupp's touch. The Ohio Valley has so much basketball history it isn't funny and they are the cream of the crop. It's all well and good that people slob on NC teams, and we have one of the richest traditions around, but this state can't compete with the OH-KY-IN region.

I agree, between Cincinatti, Ohio St, Indiana and Kentucky the Carolinas just can't compete. As much as I love this area it's at best 2nd to that area in college basketball history.

No, not really. The national love affair is definitely with Chapel Hill/Duke, but the history of basketball in that region is disgusting. But, Duke "won" the battle of the 90s vs UK and there hasn't really been a dominant program out of the era since the 80s, so of course the media is going to go to NC where the championships are more recent.
