i never said he enjoyed it...only that his choices make him selfish. the guy had responsibilities to his children to be a father to them. he chose to ignore that for his addiction.

this society is too freaking forgiving. it is NOT ok to be a drug addict. especially when you have kids.

You act like being an addict is a choice. Yes it was a choice the very FIRST time someone snorted coke or smoked crack. And yes it was stupid. But to say an addict can just say no is ignorant.

in my opinion, being an addict is a choice. the chemicals in drugs make it difficult to beat the addiction, but i can be done. i have seen it.

i'm sure most addicts had that first hit shoved in their vein, blew up their nose, shoved in their mouth, etc. poor things.

It was your attitude and statement that made me think you are an ass, not your lack of addiction to an unhealthy habit. Oh, and I still think you are an ass, but only due to your ignorance.

Sure, Caminiti made a big mistake when he used drugs. A fucking huge mistake. There are many people on this board who have used drugs, some heavily, and they have come clean. It's never easy, and some never get over it, Caminiti included. He had been through treatment on more than one occasion and even worked with he Padres as a hitting coach during spring training, but he could not get through the disease. Chances are he would have rather not been addicted to painkillers, alcohol, opiates, and cocaine, but he couldn't get over it. Dude made a mistake, just as you, I, and everyone else in this world have before.
