I wouldn't mistake his ego for bad attitude. This guy is a leader, as Fulmer has mentioned, and leads by example. Confidence is a good thing. Washington has it all but he doesn't have that Moss flexiblity and agility. Rogers does and is the total package IMO. Washington does have great straightline speed however and his size is very imposing. If the team wants a bigger Muhammad with more speed - then this could be the guy.

    I don't think he's that physical.
Ego doesn't suggest bad attitude to me, but you do have to think that if the going's getting tough he's gonna be one of the ones complaining he's not getting the chance to turn it around. There's the idea that he's more "him" than "team". Not to say he'd be a big problem, but if it came down to it, his ego isn't a great fit.

Who do we go and get then . . . asuming that we pick around 11 to 13 and the best DTs are gone and WRs Williams and Rogers are gone . . . . ??????????????

Who looks like a GREAT fit to you guys? And I'm not talkin' relatively slow possession receivers with fragile hammies or converted kick returners under 6 feet. Lets get an honest to God stud franchise WR in here who will be THE go to guy for years to come. I've heard people say 2003 will be loaded at WR . . . who are a couple of possibilities for us (beyond Williams & Rogers) in that 11th to 13th pick range?

PS - What about a free agent too? It wouldn't hurt to sign an established WR away from someone to pair with our stud rook WR. Does anyone have a guess as to who might be available?

If the DTs are gone and those two are gone? Washington or Andre Williams. Washington's the better value but either/or IMO.
It's either that or look at other areas we might or might not have filled like CB, where the cover-two type corner value is better later on, or maybe trading down and getting the best right tackle.

You mean Andre Johnson (Miami)? How ‘bout Justin Gage (Missouri), or Mike Bush (Washington St)? I don't follow much college football, but is there a sleeper WR pick that is starting to make himself know yet?

yeah, brain fart. Johnson. He's a mid-first about the level of Stallworth, though obviously I'm not comparing the two. Johnson is a junior as are preseason highly ranked Brandon Lloyd (Illinios)

Gage is very good, has all the measurables, and could make late first round, but lacks the explosion of the top four. Bernard Berrian's a guy some have put in that same spot, though his injury has taken that situation into peril - I'm not sure if he did but he was considering redshirting.

I don't know Bush that well. I don't know Greg Tolver either, but for SDSU he leads the nation in receiving (Rogers is 2nd) at 6'2, 205, and had 63/878/2 for last year. John Standeford (Purdue) is a lower ranked guy who is in the top five in rec yards as well, 6'4, 195 and has the most TDs (6) so far of the high receiving yardage players, tied with Rogers.

How about let's not assume anything......it's three games into the season for god's sake. If you must assume, lets try to figure out who's going to be available 32nd. Well hope/assume anyway.

:laugh1: Good one. If no one assumed on football message boards there would be about 75% less traffic.)

I am still going to say that Andre Johnson can be the best WR in the draft next year. Rogers looks fantastic and Washington has a very high ceiling - but Johnson is absolutely perfectly what you look for in a WR. He could be the best PLAYER (period) in the next draft. I like the guy that much. Stallworth has a lot more talent than I ever believed he had, but Johnson is better than Stallworth.

I would rank them as follows: (remember rankings mislead you into thinking one player is better than another. Johnson could be better in the long run than Rogers - but right now Rogers has shown a bit more...)
    1) Rogers - close to a complete package - need a bit more bulk on the frame. Can he take a pounding? Other than that he should be bronzed with a WR plaque.
    2) Johnson - complete package IMO. Physical and fast with great size and excellent hands. Confident and can already run pro routes. He is still getting better too, and is starting to realize how dominating he can become.
    3) Washington - Huge with great straight-line speed. Lack agility of top 2. High ceiling however.
    4) Evans - speed will get him drafted early. He is a bit overshadowed by the others on the list due to size, but he is great talent in his own right.
    5) Roy Williams - good player - but lacks explosiveness and suddeness. Is neutralized too easily and although he is certainly a talent - he doesn't produce near enough to move into the top 3 on this list. I'd take him - but after the guys above.

Bobby Wade of Arizona could be a sleeper, good hands, good routes a tad shorter then the rest at 5' 11"
