The Panthers were willing to let us play up to five games a year at Ericsson for $250,000 per game plus some other variable costs. It's too much money to consider because with five home game a year, it would cost $1.25 million-plus just to play home games and we'd be limited to five. At any rate, it's a moot point. We don't dare to dream and now it's too late. The new NCAA will never include us in a football -- heck, they may not inlcude Southern Miss, Tulane, Houston, South Florida, Memphis, UAB and even East Carolina, among others. Where's TCU going?

I'd like to see us add small college football and turn Transamerica Field into a football stadium and build a I-AA program like those at Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Furman. But, even that is cost prohibitive because of the number of men who would influence Title IX and the Gender Equity formula -- the piece of dung it is.

Fever, I have a serious question for you. You are officially not a 49er fan, but WOULD YOU ATTEND OUR FOOTBALL GAMES IF WE HAD A TEAM? It would be a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

at least 2,500 new alums per year. The Alumni Assoc. is about 65,000 strong if I'm not mistaken - 49erAlumnus, correct me if I'm wrong.

Sure I would, like I said before in a previous post, in the past 5 years I have been to probably twice as many 49ers games as to UNC games in basketball because you guys were in my back yard before I moved to Greenville.

I am by no means anti-49ers, I just can't some of their fans, just like you guys talk about UNC fans. I live to watch college basketball and football along with pro football. There are really no teams in the Carolina's that I would pull for other than UNC of course, so if the 49ers were to start a team, I would support them by catching a game or two a year just like in basketball.
