Watched this one on DVD the other night. Wife's choice - she's a big Harrison Ford fan.

The ending was kinda sappy, but not a bad movie. I'm glad I didn't bother with it when it was in theaters.

I caught the DVD a couple of weekends ago. I felt the same way -- not a bad movie, but glad I didn't drop $9.00 to see it in the theater.

    i dropped the 9 bucks

and then some when my bro came to visit. i got too much of that Hunt for Red October feeling. I was disappointed with the flick. I dunno, I still think Crimson Tide probably the better of recent sub flicks (havent seen U-571). Probably wouldnt rent K19, tho. Yeah, then ending too sappy. We shoulda gone to see Road to Perdition instead.

Ditto. It was a slow movie.

    U-571 was good mediafreak :) . . . . RENT IT!!!!!

K-19: I thought it was good . . . Its not as good as HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, but I still thought it was a good movie (it was a tad on the long side though, which is my only complaint)

That would be mine, too. Red October and Crimson Tide are almost equally good, but I give the edge to Red October because I'm a Clancy fan. :D

I like the complex storyline, too, but Tide was a little more intense. Hackman and Washington.:xyzthumbs

I just got out of the Navy a couple years ago, I served as a nuclear engineer on a fast attack. I tend to gravitate towards movies that are the most realistic. K-19 I thought was good, but then again, I understood all the nuke lingo. I thought it was a bit technical for those that hadn't been through years of nuke training  . Anyway heres how I rank recent sub movies:

    1) Hunt for Red October
    2) U-571
    3) K-19
    ....

501609 ) Crimson Tide (most unrealistic piece of shit I've ever seen).
