    I don't agree that procreation is the only reason for sex. Sexual intimacy is about a spiritual connection with your spouse, about truly becoming one as the Bible talks about.

    Let me ask you this question- I am unable to have children due to medical reasons. Are you saying that I should never have sex with my husband because I can't procreate? How sad that would be for me!!! (and for him!!) And what about women that are past their child-bearing years; should they be celibate as well?

    In the Catholic church, I think you're right, but not in Biblical Protestant ones.

    Protestants are "more relaxed with both" because there's nothing in the Bible that prohibits their use, as long as a conceived child is not endangered.


    Biblical mandate.


    Not the same thing.


    This concept is HUGE in Japanese culture. Don't know about Chinese, though, which would lead me to believe it's more Shinto than Budhhism. I could be wrong about that, though. :thinking:
