    awesome.

i dont care that the director fell short or that he left a bunch of stuff out. i love the experience of it. great job.

I think it's better if you don't try to figure everything out. Thanks for the article link, though.

yeah. i like that the movie is open to interpretation. sometimes, i like "feeling" a movie more than needing all ends tied up. that's why lynch is my favorite director. there are some movies where i need answers, but for me, i just like the experience.

LOST is that way. i like trying to figure it all out, but a letdown is inevitable for me -- i like not knowing...the adventure and interpretations, so if i find all the answers, i'll be sad that i know. that it's over. that i can't experience it the same way again. that it's gone. conversely, if there's no answers (and never were), then it renders itself a bit pointless and banal.

i prefer to think the meaning is in the experience. it's a perfect metaphor for life because we will never know -- while we are living -- all the answers to our existence. yet, every generation thinks they are special, or closer to finding it. like the characters in lost, who are dragging us along with them.

back to darko, i think what is remarkable to realize when watching are the lengths that the other characters in the tangential universe go through to help donnie wreck the plane.

but, at it's core, it's a movie to be experienced more than figured out.

I thought it was a lousy mashup of Harvey and 12 Monkeys...

Although it is more of the same, I enjoyed the Jacket.
