Brown is a decent coach and he does a decent job. I just thought it ironic that several of you on here wanted to annoint him the next Michael Vick because he can win with lesser talent and then he struggles coaching the US olympic team.

How can anyone dispute that Larry Brown is one of the greatest coaches all time...HE TOOK THE CLIPPERS TO THE PLAYOFFS! He coached at the collegiate level for all of 8 years and one a title with Kansas and went to a final four with UCLA! He took the Sixers to the championship - his one star (iverson) wasn't as good as the Lakers two stars (Shaq & Kobe). He took the Pacers to the Eastern Conference finals 3 times but couldn't get by some guy wearing #23 - anybody remember who wore that jersey? Thelt, go back to the rant and rave board...You're not making your point here.

If Michael Vick could play the whole season he might just get good.

In 32 years of coaching, Brown has won 2 championships. 2. That's it. If your goal is to have a winning season and maybe make the playoffs, he's your man. If you want to win the big one - not so much.

Yes, two championships is about it for Larry. You have to understand that Larry takes over down and out teams and makes them win. Then he moves on. That's his style. Let's say he was like Phil Jackson and would only coach winning teams with multiple superstars. I wonder how many championships he'd have then? Or let's just say he would stay in one place and build a program, how many then? I know in my own mind that Phil Jackson, John Wooden, Ratface, Red Auerbach etc. etc. etc could NOT go into the places that Larry has and win consistently like Larry has. :scared2: :nono:

Don't pay any attention to Morgan - he's just ticked off that Larry and the Pistons bitch slapped and caused the break up of his beloved Lakers.

What did I say that was bullshit? Brown has taken over some fucked up teams and made them respectable. Morgan, do you REALLY think Jackson could go to some of the places Larry has been to and make them win like Larry has? I didn't think so.
