he hit the ceiling at hawaii. That was the best team he'd ever have there, and still got laughed at for the blowout to Georgia. He'll get better recruits on the mainland, and in texas even.

He had a better team last year.

The Hawaii sports facilities are supposedly horrid.

they are, I saw them when I was there. Add that to the fact that Aloha Stadium is a dump, and they just don't have money to compete nationally with recruiting and for scheduling better programs.

It's also going to suck seeing them owned by florida next year. They would have lost anyways, but now they'll be a shell of the team that signed on to that game.

With his resume for offense, recruiting in Texas should be a breeze for him. I'd think he could do at least as well as Mike Leach at TT.

He's making 2 million a year at SMU?! How the hell do they have that much money. I know they are in Texas and have a somewhat rich tradition with Cotton Bowl appearances back in the 80's, but that is a TON of cash. That's SEC type money.

Well, way back then they had plenty of money to throw around on players, why not pay the coaches too?

From what I've read the school has managed to get some of their rich boosters to donate 100k each for 5 years to pay his salary.

More money, Texas players(easier recruiting) and better facilities. As a football fan, it was nice to see Hawaii do so well, but for his personal situation, this appears to be a no brainer.
