I don't know that we cut Mangum given our new OC's use of the two TE sets. With Mangum gone we really have zero experience behind Walls. I do agree that he's making way too much for what he brings at this point, but we may just be stuck with him.

We'll see the CB's weeded out also, but for not much savings. Williams doesn't know when to shut his mouth and has talked his way off the team more than anything else. Tuten and Donalley are on the bubble and at least one of them goes. Are James and Jordan ready to step up to start in Donalley's place?

Wp, I know you can't name names at this point, but is the guy we're looking at from the Giants an offensive or defensive player?

Strictly talking DE's (unless I misunderstood). and I'm not holding out on ya, I couldn't get the names either.

    Zip experience behind Mangum.

Another note - Heinrich is a long snapper. Jason Kyle is our current longsnapper, and he's $525k this year. I see him going away. *what a great job. $525k to longsnap.*

We have another TE, Inkrott. I saw him at the minicamp. Couldn't tell whether he was worth a damn.

Still - no depth behind Mangum, Walls injury prone.

Donnalley is slated to make $1mil salary this year. He's a favorite among the staff, it seems always doing functions and what not. But a million is a million.

Good catch meat. Heinrich would take care of a couple of stones.

Overall, though, I don't expect a lot of blood on June 1st. If we were just going to cut Williams, we would have done it. Waiting till June saves us nothing more than doing it now. IMO, they wait until late June-July. Right when we negotiate our picks. Then we start lowering the boom. Unless, or course, we want to find money for something other than just our draft picks, which I don't expect. We may bring in a corner at some point, but it may not be until after training camp starts.

Yeah, Wp, neither are in our price range. I just listed all of them that I saw on the roster at Sportsline. Those two are in the penthouse and our budget is Public Housing.

I checked nflpa.org - Holmes is slated to make 1.9 mil this year, but is only in the second year of his deal. I'd imagine his dead money hit would be huge.

Also, ALL of the other DE's on the giants roster are el-cheapo - no reason to cut after June 1st.

Holmes is the only one, and if we're just shopping for depth, I don't see us going for Holmes.

Maybe Fox thinks that one of the cheapos can fill Williams' shoes.

I don't see Holmes here either Meat. If we just happen to go that route though, Rucker may be gone next year as a FA.

    More on the longsnapper -

We just signed (May 28) Ken Amato - Longsnapper. From Panthers.com.

    That's 3 longsnappers.

Would it be that Surprising to go Walls, Crawford, Heinrich? Crawford is a 3rd year man. Walls the starter, Heinrich the new guy.

Get rid of Mangum and Kyle Johnson, which clears 1.2 million.

    I dunno - just thinkin.
