    why?

it's always been young back-vet back. Which is fine. Leadership, experience, mentoring, and of course having a guy who knows what the fuck is going on.

As it is right now, we might be stupid enough to go into the draft with both DE and OT as needs. So, you have to draft a young player at RB, too - just make it a reachfest?

I just don't get it. Starting OT and our rush need are both way up there, backup RB is lower.

You get a rookie, he could turn out to be good.

He could also turn out to be Eric Shelton.

You kinda know what you're getting with a veteran like Jones.

    I like moose.

I like R.Moss better. Unfortunately neither of these are realistic.

With Julius Jones you're getting crap - that's what you're getting.

And you're getting crap that will likely cost $$. Alot of it. See Colbert, colclough, Berrian, Stallworth. None of those guys are 'all that', and they got paid big.

Julius Jones will likely make triple what Williams makes. :twocents:

We need 2 backs. We need 2 very good backs. We can't afford Turner, and Jones is not very good. We need to draft a guy.

IDK, you never know what a change of scenery will do for a player, but Jones wouldn't be my first choice. I kind of like Derrick Ward better, but I wonder how he is recovered from his broken leg.

BTW, we don't have much choice about going into the draft needing an OT and a DE, because there is only 1 decent FA DE still available and no OT's worth spending any money on...Flozelle Adams was pretty much it, and it would have been hard to justify signing him to a big contract when we can't work out a deal with our own FA RT. With the extra picks we have now, I'm not really worried about it anyway. Hell, if we trade down again, we'll have a buttload of picks in the first 3 rounds.

how about, just don't draft guys like eric shelton.

i wish would have been in the war room when that pick was being made.

i think what meat is saying is that julius jones is topped out.

I'd prefer a rookie, but wouldn't be upset.
