I need to lose a good bit right now. I have lost large amounts of weight in the past only to gain it back. I once lost 60 pounds on weight watchers. I am hoping that the calorie counting will allow me to get used to what I can eat and get away with so that I can manage it better when I reach goal weight.

We were breaking it down like this:

Breakfast 300 calories (easily done with a protien bar)
Lunch 500 calories (most fast food sandwiches will work if you do not get fries)
Dinner 700 calories (my wife says she can cook us meals that work for this)

This ought to work well if we can stick with it for a while.

I eat a bowl of heart healthy cereal or whole grain--no fat milk with fruit
sometimes a low cholestrol thomas englis muffin with natures blend and a spoon full of peanut butter and jelly on it.

    watch that cholestrol

Dinner 700 calories (my wife says she can cook us meals that work for this)
fish, chicken, veggies --that will work, has for me but no fried stuff

I got some veggie juice from Harris Teeter today. I haven't tried it yet. It was in the produce section close to the bagged salad stuff. I got a bottle of just carrot juice, a bottle of carrot, apple and passion fruit, and a bottle of tomato, carrot and celery juice. $3.49 for a one liter bottle.

The biggest issue will be if I can tolerate this. I have a pretty hearty appetite.

It couldn't be no more so than mine was. Only difference is I had to lose weight and lower my cholestrol. If I can do it then anyone can. I ate whole fried chickens at a setting. Got to where I had to have triple Bubba Burgers and a pan of biscuits with a stick of butter. This eating from the 70's and 80's and 90's is catching up on people. Heart diesese is the number one cause of death for women in America and being over weight is one of the main factors. Men ain't far behind. Lose it now or when you get my age you will find yourself with no choice.

I will be 34 next month so it is going to catch up with me sooner rather than later I think....

A big thing for me right now is that being overweight is limiting me. I do not enjoy stuff I used to with this extra weight. The diet starts when I get back from the beach, next wednesday.

Had a glass of the just carrot juice today. Not bad. I like it really cold though.
