Does anyone here do it? Besides honeygirl ;)

I think I'm going to buy myself a juicer, but I'm not sure how much they are worth as you go up in price. Ie.. Are there really that many more nutrients in the yield of the masticating juicer vs. a centrifugal juicer?

Yay - a juicing thread! I know we talked about it today - but here's what I know and do. Forget the premade juices that you can buy in the supermarket. You need to do it fresh and drink it soon after you've made it. My parents swear by this new fangled thing that they've brought, but my wee juicer works just as well. The benefits for me have been enormous. I've overcome some of the worst Lupus attacks by guzzling back some freshly juiced carrot, celery, beetroot and parsely. I literally notice the energy increase within the hour. The juicers are worth it because you get a direct hit of vitamins and minerals, and so long as you juice fresh produce, you'll be fine. For some, there's a majic science to it - but I tend to put in what I need at that particular time.

Bugger, I've just seen the `besides Honeygirl' comment. Damn - sowee :(.

    Yay!

Make the base carrot and then top up with celery, parsley (heaaaaaaps), fresh ginger - anything you fancy. You will feel a million dollars...promise :).

Oh wow, you've inspired me. I'm getting my juicer out today and starting in again.
I used to juice thru chem treatments and it helped a lot. Gave me energy and IMO helped beat the cancer.
Bye gotta hit the Supermart for my carrots and apples.

This thread is cool. I'm looking into juicing. My new program requires fresh veggie juices every morning. Plu, you musta been readin' my mind.

So, where did you buy a juicer? I'm getting ready to hit HG's link here in a minute.

Oh, and soy milk ain't too bad! I just added this because I am using soy milk to make some of the smoothies in my book. I got regular and vanilla soy and I didn't vomit! :woot:

Thanks spud. I was just looking at how expensive they are! My husband is an Ebay addict, I'll put him on the job.
