Johnny Unitas dead at 69

    BALTIMORE (AP) — Johnny Unitas, the Hall of Fame quarterback who broke nearly every passing NFL record and won three championships with the Baltimore Colts in an 18-year career, died Wednesday. He was 69.
    Unitas died of a heart attack, according to Baltimore Ravens spokesman Chad Steele.

    He was JR's QB wasn't he? I'll bet JR is sad about that one. I remember Johnny U well. He threw the wobbly pass right on target ever time, it seened. Threw a TD pass to JR in a championship game if I remember correct.

    Position: Quarterback, Baltimore Colts, (1956-72); San Diego Chargers, (1973)

    Education: St. Justin's High School (Pittsburgh); graduated University of Louisville, 1955.

    Drafted: Ninth round (102nd overall) by Pittsburgh Steelers (1955). Cut before start of 1955 and signed as free agent with Baltimore Colts in 1956.
