He brought many good memories to the Braves throughout his career. I actually watched him last night and it was really sad, he couldn't get a left-handed batter out if he wanted to.

Obviously the experiment in Boston didn't pan out...would love to see him in a Braves uniform at some point just to retire but I don't know if that will happen.

    The man has no fastball.

I doubt the Braves would have him after he talked trash about them over the Glavine thing. Plus with Hudson coming back there will already be a logjam at SP.

Made me a little sad to see Smoltz look that bad on the mound. He's lost it. I've got a lot of great memories of him (and Maddux, Glavine and Avery), but this one I'll try to forget.

I don't know if I totally agree...of course he does not have the type of fastball that he had early in his career but last Thursday he was hitting 90, 91, 92 on the gun. Where Smoltzie was getting lit up was with his other pitches...no sink, no movement...just pitches spinning in the heart of the zone.

No way Boston gives up on him unless it was pretty obvious he is done. Nobody likes Smoltz more than me but it's time to move on. He's a very determined person though so it's hard to believe he would let his career end this way.

    Smoltz signing with St. Louis:

Cardinals must think Smoltz still has something left.

Dave Duncan is the best pitching coach in baseball. If it's something mechanical Duncan will fix it.
