John Maine named to Major League "Futures" All Star Game !!!!

    make it official. John Maine was named to the Major League baseball Futures team today! He will represenst the Americans against the foreign players at the Major League All star Weekend in Chicago.

    Maine makes Future's game!

    This game will be on ESPN II, on July 13th.

    AWESOME.

    I hope he gets to pitch. According to the live audio on MLB.COM, this is only a 7 inning game. The roster has 11 pitchers. The broadcast on mlb.com said that "some" may not pitch because of impacts on their regular team's rotation.

    Even if he doesn't pitch, its a great opportunity for him. I'd assume there should be plenty of scouts watching all the guys over the whole weekend.

    I just hope that he (and the 49ers) can get maximum exposure.
