    i have to agree with metro on this one. personally, i think a mediocre pitcher in todays game could be a consistent cy young type pitcher in the game years back.

    Most pitchers today couldn't have done squat because they would be looking to come out in the 5th inning becaue they had reached their pitch count. That is one reason that they can go all out - they know they have a deep bullpen

    I can see both sides of the argument, but my point that metro was jumping on was that he obscures otherwise valid points in his assinine statements like Joe Morgan is stupid for having an opinion that quite a few people in baseball also have.

    I agree wholeheartedly...not necessarily because of his views on pitching, but just because he annoys the everliving shit out of me. He has a knack for announcing the obvious...like every 5 seconds.
