agreed on the $, and having Gregg Williams there means that he'll probably not spend time on the D hardly at all. I'd expect that, if he can, he'll go get someone capable of handing the details in the O as well.

I can't think of much he has to gain by doing this, though. Unless he just had that much of a jones to do it.

    Hello Panther fan.

First things first. Thanks for beating the cowboys. I"m sure all of Redskins nations appreciates it.

Yes, I'm a Redskins fan. And we are very excited about having Gibbs back on the side line. As someone said earlier, it gives instant credibility back to our storied franchise. I never thought I'd see the day when Gibbs would come back.

As for the time he's been out of the NFL, lets not forget about Vermeil. He was out for 14 years and he hasn't missed a beat. And about Snyder...the way I look at this. Gibbs is the one person that Snyder will have to walk on pins and needles with. If Snyder mistreats Gibbs, he'll have the worst PR move in the history of sports. Gibbs is held higher than even Darrell Green.

Foxman, are the same Foxman from the Huddles? Is so, whats up? Haven't talked to you in a while.

And why does this move make you hate Snyder even more? You don't think this was a good move by Snyder?

Good luck this weekend on beating the Rams. And thanks for your input...

Hey man welcome to TBR. Yeah it is I. I pretty much already strongly disliked Snyder and felt he was a complete idiot as an NFL owner that refused to listen to very quality guys. From day one Snyder has proven he is willing to part with his money on a whim. The Richardsons have been courting Gibbs since the days when the Panthers were just a dream and given that sooo many people in this area were/are skins fans the idea of Gibbs being a Panther was more than exciting...it was intoxicating to some. Fact is I love the job Fox has done and may one day be a legend himself, but make no mistake if we had landed Gibbs at any point in our franchise history we would not have had near the struggles as a franchise IMO. having said that, its my impression that he would forever remain under the radar and out of the coaching world in the NFL. So, it boils down to an already strong dislike mixed with pure jealousy that Snyder whom I have zero NFL respect for would land Gibbs who shot down an owner that I think is as first class as they come. I know Gibbs doesnt need the money so like others have specualted I can only guess that he has a piece of the pie. Fact is I think this is a cue for the skins, course I could normaly care less about them...but this is as big a hireing as they could have possibly done without raising Vince Lambardi from the dead. So, hang around carmike you are minority fan here...but there are a few skin fans here. :wavey:

Foxman, I thought that may be the reason. And I can understand it.

I knew your hatred with Snyder before. I'm not the biggest fan myself. But he makes up alot of ground with this hiring.

If I were a Panters fan, I'd be tickled to hell with Fox. Which I'm sure you guys are. He has done an exceptional job.

It was simply a natural progression.

I'm still very skeptical of the move.

I don't hate Snyder. But if I were a skins fan, I sure would.

Gibbs is a fine coach. He left on his terms and has had success in other areneas. Now I don't begrudge him one bit. If some rich nitwhit was begging to throw me an outragious contract and part ownership to coach his real life Fantasy Football team, and perhaps restore dignity to a once proud franchise, I'd do it if I was him.

But unless FO changes are made, I don't think it will matter. This just seems to much like every other "bold" move Snyder has made, reaching back for former glory and big names. Too much like his desperation for Spurrier, for Jeff George.

Not that Gibbs compares to either, neither could hold his jock. He could turn out to be his Torre. But I'd hate to see a great man's reputation tarnished by the antics of a rich man's toy franchise.

I agree with the distaste for Snyder, but who would you rather have? Him or the Cards owner?
