Did anyone else watch this? I loved the discussions Joan had with God. It was just like a good religious debate, but you didn't get overwhelmed by it.

Our lesson in church today dealt with "God's Plan". He certainly had one in the 1st episode. All Joan had to do was to do as He asked.

:xyzthumbs I like it... it had me laugh out loud a couple of times. The whole explaining why he's 'snippy' ... "I'm actually a nice guy" that was cute.

Just two things didn't make since to me...
1st when would a priest ever pass up an opportunity to witness. And not knowing what to say?? They always know what to say, even if it's a non-answer. lol

2nd (and I rewinded it a couple of times to make sure) There was only one black guy on the city bus with her, the rest where all white. Even had white guys in suits! LOL After riding the LA city bus in South Pas, San Marino, Pasadena and Alhambra, which are right there next to Arcadia I found that hilarious bc it's so fictitious.

Yeah, what was that whole 'make an appointment' thing? Didn't make sense to me either.

I think this is what I was trying to say:

"If he fixes all the problems (or dispatches his angels to do the fixing), there's a risk that the show becomes treacly and preachy. On the other hand, if God is around but doesn't take much of an interest in things, you've managed to alienate just about everyone but atheists, typically not the target demo sought by advertisers. Finding that balance is tricky, but it's a trick creator (no pun intended) Barbara Hall manages quite nicely in "Joan of Arcadia."

What happened on the 2nd episode? I missed it. :( Did she tell God about being almost kidnapped?

I don't remember anything like that happening in the 2nd episode. She did almost get kidnapped in the first. And I missed Friday night's episode (had to watch 'Return to Neverland' with the kid).

I saw the first, missed the 2nd and saw the 3rd... I was wondering what happened in the 2nd show.

I still have #3,,,, I can put it on VHS and mail it to you if you'd like.
