    Why in the FUCK are people talking about how he should be the starter and the reason he sucked was John Fox's fault?

    Fox had him behind Cantwell in preseason, he got few reps. Or whatever. The other part is they're blaming Fox for Davidson and Scherer.

    I said, very early on, that no one would succeed in that offense behind that line as they were playing to start the year, I certainly wasn't surprised he sucked. I sure hope they didn't ruin him because he's sure got some bad habits and probably very little confidence.

    the line was getting blown up early on. Receivers weren't in sync, inexperienced. There were no holes to run through.

    Part of that is the staff not doing what it took to identify those problems and gameplan around them; part of that is not having the players or ability to get players to fix those problems;

    The problems with the QBs were resulting from those other factors, and in turn made those same factors worse.

    Where were the roll outs? Where were the short passes to the tight end in the middle? why did they not run out of 3 or 4 WR sets more? They were very predictable, and that in turn made it easy for the defenses to hone in on the QB and attack him.

    Am I wrong?

    So if we can fix the line, give the QB more opportunities for success with better protection and better targets/routes, that in turn will allow us to run the ball more and in turn will make it easier for him to pass.

    theoretically.

    Yeah I think you are. I think if the next regime decides to rely on Clausen, they won't be the next regime for long.

    They need to pursue a replacement at QB as the number one priority.

    Look back at some current franchise type qb's, check their rookie years. Stats. Then look at some rookies who failed, you'll have to do some looking in 'historical players', check the stats. Which ones most closely resemble Jimmy's?

    Seriously. Rivera is fucking doomed if Clausen is under center. And we will suck badly, and for years.

    This. Clausen is not a franchise quarter back. Even with a crappy O-line, and non-relevant running game, we should have seen at least some flashes of good throws, TD's, etc... none. Better to move on, admit they were wrong, and find that franchise QB.
