I actually lost a lot of faith in Clausen today. He had time, and still played erratic. He has not shown he can connect with Smitty, or make downfield throws consistently. The offense is coached scared, and I think Clausen plays like that too.

I feel he could be a game manager, but I don't see fire or leadership from him, and I don't see enough playmaking ability.

It's early, and all that could change.

Its good that Clausen came from a college program that ran a pro style offense, its just too bad that the Panthers don`t have one.

I don't get all the hating. Guy was restricted on passes, he did well on third downs, he moved the ball despite having huge amounts of screw dumped on him. It's one of the better QB days we've had out here this year.

I know it seemed like he was restricted on passes. Was it something we told him to do? Was it what the defense gave him? Whyd he check down all the time.

Thats not really a compliment. I`m not hating on Clausen, but I saw nothing that said he was the answer for years to come at qb. He might develope, but the sophomore jinx doesn`t happen till next year.

I got the feeling that he was only restricted by his ability, but who knows.

That last drive was encouraging. The drive before not so much.

me too, scared to pull the trigger like weinke. i did fall asleep on the very last drive somehow and missed those couple plays to goodson and lafell. it seemed like every time he dropped back there was a problem.

Not hating. I just saw the same guy we'd been seeing for some time now. I agree with you about having large amounts of screw dumped on him though, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. But he holds the ball entirely too long, and he has a long wind up, and those two things I think, if he doesn't snap out of, are going to prevent him from ever being a good starter.

Saying it was one of the better QB days we've had is saying almost nothing. WE can't judge it off of this year, we have to remember to judge it off of what we want in our QB for the future.

It's still way too early. I was just frustrated....
