Liberalism always espouses that you should take from the rich and give to the poor. In this passage it points out that the most fervent proponent of this position (Judas) was in fact stealing the money. That is what happens with modern liberalism. The government beauracracy takes a lot of the money that was supposed to go to the poor.

Jesus also says the poor you have with you always, which I take to mean that the problem of poverty will never be completely solved. Liberals try to blame poverty on republicans but according to this passage it is not something that would go away if the liberals were in charge either.

...meanwhile back at the ranch (and back on topic)...

...if some type of anti-abortion measure did pass and was held to be constitutionally viable, then it would, well.... pass.

Which, incidentally, does not disagree or take away from ecilam's point. The Pubs have long trumpeted their supposed religious and moral authority in their campain for office and to do away with abortion and same sex unions. All the while ignoring many other social issues that the church would also support but they would not.

The dems spend money on "charity" such as the vast array of social programs we have. If the money was not spent on all that then I would not have to pay as much in taxes. That is compulsatory charity in my book.

Back to the topic then, why does it anger you that Republicans supposedly use morality but not Democrats, who also use morality?

................................and this has what to do with the price of tea in china?

I'm still waiting for how I "blame" the republicans for being pro-life? I'm not sure how you "blame" them for such a stance.

I have said repeatedly that the republicans are whoring out religion as a campaign platform and a justification for their selective thinking on platform issues. I ahven't waivered on that at all, nor will I as long as W quotes God as his justification for every action he takes.
