You mean like the Democrats choosing to take away the decision of people to give to charity or not?

    Your rant swings both ways.

You have still not explained how abortion, when it is used for birth control, is not evil.

I take stances all the time. I am not ashamed of any of them. I just realize that some of them aren't as cut and dried as others. I also have the ability to respect someone who disagrees with me, unlike what you've so far demonstrated.

Ummm... exactly where did I mention democrats? The only political reference I made was to the Pubs asserting their supposed religious righteousness, which I believe is a farce and nothing more than a whored out campaign tool.

    Are you another bi-color worldviewer?

I dont think I've made that statement at all TheIt, so why in the world should I have to "defend" it? I have my own views on that issue which apply to me and by association, my wife. There's nowhere les for you to go with this. You're just preaching again, "Mr. I know Right from Wrong... ...and I [shall] judge everyone".

    Hilarious.

So even if you believe that it is wrong you are not willing to stand up and state your beliefs even with the anonymity of an interenet message board?

Like they say, "you have to stand for something or you will fall for anything".

In order to respect someone who disagrees with you, you have to believe in your stance weakly?

The only way you will ever discuss things is on your own terms. This thread isn't about abortion, it's a specific question about religion and its role in politics. I will say quite simply that a good deal of what elicam and others like him have said resonates with me. I stand by my belief that the so called conservative religious right whores out religion as a campaign tool when they don't actually represent the majority of the belief system they espouse that they are the champions of.

I think that the church (all christian faiths) would find fault with both candidates, parties and platforms, because neither is absolutely "right". Similarly, I think that the church would feel strongly about some issues and less strongly about others, taking a different, non partisan tact on them that defended their beliefs, even if they didn't necessarily have the political answers. It's the difference between the sword and the shield, a point I've made repeatedly and you haven't seemed to grasp. You're too busy out there trying to whack those evil idiot heathen liberals and muslims in your own holy crusade against "evil".

I have never said that either party is perfect but the republicans are a lot closer to the morality of christians than the democrats are.

To be honest I am not sure what your point is Harry other than I should not be so sure I am right about things.

You seemed to be implying that if I hold fervently to my beliefs then I disrespect those who disagree.
