As the body is dying, the heart slows down. As the heart slows down- the blood congeals thus increasing the risk of throwing a clot.

Correct. The strain of him having to push his body weight up was bad enough, but when he slumped back down to prevent the tearing of his flesh in the nail wounds most likely caused his O2 saturation level to go into between the 40s-70 (normal is 95-100). He couldnt breathe, and this caused so much duress on his heart that his heart tore and subsequently, bled to death.

They said Jesus died of a broken heart. I say physically and metaphorically, that's a very accurate statement. The spear didnt come until after he was dead.

He suffered enough to pay for our sins. It really does not matter what the biological mechanism was that ended it. It was going to go on until it was finished and then no longer.
